A Retreat in daily LIFE
WATCH A BRIEF DESCRIPTIVE VIDEO OF THE SPIRITUAL EXERCISES
- Do you want to go deeper with God?
- Would you like to experience Jesus more personally and powerfully?
If so, the Spiritual Exercises may be God's invitation to you in this season.
The Spiritual Exercises are a collection of meditations, prayers, and contemplative exercises that deepen your relationship with God as you journey with Jesus through imaginative prayer, entering into the Gospel stories and allowing his story to speak into yours. The Exercises were developed by Saint Ignatius Loyola to help people have a personal experience of Jesus, walking with him through his life, passion, and resurrection. For centuries the Exercises were given as a long retreat of solitude and silence, but today the most common way people experience them is through a "retreat" in the midst of daily life, combining daily meditations, prayers, and exercises with weekly meetings with a spiritual director.
I am certified to lead the Spiritual Exercises with individuals or groups. There are two options for experiencing the Exercises:
1) 19th Annotation — Retreat in Daily Life (an immersive, transformative experience for individuals)
This 9-month retreat in daily life typically takes place September to May, so that the Nativity story and Passion story roughly align with the seasons of Christmas and Easter. Currently I am taking applications for September 2025-May 2026.
Commitments
- Daily Prayer time that includes scripture meditation, prayer (often imaginative prayer), some journaling, and a simple daily Examen practice (approximately 1 hour/day)
- Weekly spiritual direction, in person or online (60 minutes/weekly)
Typically Mid-September to Mid-May
Fee
$180 monthly (includes weekly guides and weekly spiritual direction sessions for 9 months; sliding scale available)
2) 18th Annotation (condensed experience for groups or individuals)
This condensed experience, anywhere from 10-16 weeks in duration, can take place at various times of the year and serves as a wonderful introduction to the themes and practices of the Exercises.
Commitments
- Daily Prayer time that includes scripture meditation, prayer (often imaginative prayer), some journaling, and a simple daily Examen practice (suggested 30 minutes/day)
- Weekly spiritual direction for individuals (60 minutes/weekly); or weekly group meeting (90 minutes/weekly)
Can be anytime of year
Fee
Varies whether individual or group and according to duration; contact for more info
